will windows xp become obsolete soon?
is windows '98 inopperatable yet?
i know about right clickrun in compatabilaty mode option
does anyone use vista ,
and if so ,what is it like and do you require a fast system to process the software.
btw , the recent mame switch to dos is great
i have a circa 1999 gateway 550 megahertz main processor speed w/64meg ram chip(a dinosaur of a system)
the tower alone is about 3feet high and 2 feet wide never seen any other like it .
and i may add the recent mame releases do great from about m106 and up.
if you want to play primative games like say 1986 titles and older.

is there a new mame switch that allows windows98 to use it?

all of windows operating systems will become unsupported so don't use any of them, of course that's impossible: the later not the former.

i think the original poster
is mistaken..

there is no switch..

basically they went back to
command line, which is the
XP 32 bit shell.. it's NOT DOS at all..

yes, there is pc emulation coming,
but that's a different story that
you already know about..

later

tjt , a star wars yoke must be a piece of hardware from the arcade machine?
anyway yesterday i collect pop and beer cans to take into the junkyard to recycle
and found an AMD tower in the dumpster
got it home and poped the case, it was really clean inside
had the drivers on a factory disk inside in a paper sleve , no scratches
all that was wrong with it was the plastic power button was cracked
took a tooth brush and propped the housing secure , works great
now i can retire the old system
this new comp. has dual core 1.89megahertz main processor speed
1 gig of ram
4 usb hubs
dvd drive
floppy drive
100 gig hard drive space
it has some email stuff
used to belong to Steve Jones
my invaders .inp's uploaded were my first tries
also a year ago i found a 2.2 gig gateway that required a power supply
did that and it worked with vista unable to start due to a recent hardware change
160 gigabyte hardrive
it has just been collecting dust 'cause no vista disk
and no xp either
