Ireland is the best place to live!

Somewhere for the annoying and/or off-topic threads to go. Feel free to post about whatever, but abuse will still be dealt with, and possibly with more force. Especially pac-porno. ;)

The magazine admits that measuring quality of life is not a straightforward thing to do, and that its findings will have their critics - "except, of course, in Ireland".

Well Martin, they say Iceland is a cool place! ;)

Alex is happy because they have so many pubs in Dublin...
I guess Northern Ireland is counted as part of UK.

Here, at page 4, you can find the full Economist's Quality of life list:
I guess living in Zimbabwe sucks. Don't see countries like Afghanistan, Iraq or Sudan in the list.

Here is more official Human Development index from United Nations. Ireland still fourth.
Looking at the map, not surprisingly Africa is in deep trouble.

Here lies Worldwide Press Freedom Index
Ireland sharing pole position with...Finland.
Last place is occupied by Democratic People's Republic of Korea. China and Russia are in trouble too.
Hard to believe Israel is ahead of Japan.

I'm content enough to stay in the number 6 ranked country for now. Although being closer to the brewery making "that undrinkable crap" (read Guinness) has it's appeal.

Must tell my mate Murphy that he's gone down in the world.

Cheers

Rob (Currently pouring another glass of Baileys) :D

Crikey, a mind reader!

Actually, dare I say, TOO many?

It is. But thats a long story. A lot of pubs in working class areas have doors that bank vault makers would be proud of.
"that undrinkable crap" (read Guinness)
Correct. Almost, if not as bad as that other undrinkable crap, Fosters. Yuk!

Cheers,

Australia exports Fosters but no Australian in their right mind would even think of drinking that shite.

It's our joke to the world really.

Cheers

Rob (who's never drank Fosters in his life)
