SOKOBAN

Somewhere for the annoying and/or off-topic threads to go. Feel free to post about whatever, but abuse will still be dealt with, and possibly with more force. Especially pac-porno. ;)

SOKOBAN

Post by Phil Lamat »

Some of you already know, I'm found of this wonderful puzzle game.
Maybe you will be interested (at least Skito, who had developed a solver if I remember correctly) by a new site for which I had collaborated :
http://sokobano.de/

It (normally) detects the language you're using ; 3 languages supported :
english-german-french (I've done all the french part).
If you click on "levels", you access to a list of a lot of collections with plenty levels to play.
You can find tables with all world records.
The main interest of this site is -like on Marp !- that you can upload your hiscores on each level, and also get upload notifs by mail.
Cool, no?

Thanks to point this page ; for translation, see my private mail.

I forgot to tell : if you want to upload some solutions, do it in LURD format (Left-Up-Right-Down) which is used by 99% of players and programs.
I hope you will be able to improve some ; you will see that I have already entered a lot

Hi Dan ...
Click on the level where you want to submit a solution.
Then you've 3 boxes : 1 for your (nick)name, 1 for your mail, and 1 called "submit" where you can copy/past your solution.
Note that you must use the LURD format for the solution (this format is the most used in Sokoban games).
L=left, U=up, R=right, D=down

Note that I'm still involved in this great game, I even run a monthly competition :
http://perso.numericable.fr/plamat/soko ... cores.html
(this month we're searching on a 30 levels set by Marcus Palstra, very hard set from an author living in ... Bolivia !)

Thanks Phil!
But, I was making the mistake at the time of creation of a map.
It caused the submitt error. #-o

Note that if you plan to take 1st place on Marp games (boxyboy/soukobdx) it's a very disappointing scoring : you don't take bonus points from optimizing moves, but only for walking !
so the hiscore will show leeching, with the pusher walking and walking on empty till he stays under best steps ...

To resume, I know how to take the high score on that, but don't bother to do it as it is annoying

Of course, I understand it and also know how to score infinitely.
I am not aiming at the Marp top.
It is my individual interest simply.

Phil, did you see this? It happened a few minutes before your reply, it sounds like Dan is having trouble with uploading regular sokobon scores with a new map (NOT on marp).

I don't understand clearly what is the problem ?
if the LURD is rejected with an error message, it means that your solution is for a level which doesn't match exactly with original level from Sokobano site
(some levels have several versions, with slight differences, like 1 wall removed, or position of pusher changed at the beginning)

If it can help, you can retrieve a level from your LURD solution there :
http://sokoban.online.fr/tools/page_analyser.html

Just put your solution, and the level appears ; you can compare with level on Sokobano site

Do you have it turned into trouble by what I said?
I had to play Sokoban Deluxe recently with the Sokoban++.
I entered the map myself.
I think that was to update the number of steps, I was mistaken because there was a mistake on the map.
