Those wacky evangelical scientists

Somewhere for the annoying and/or off-topic threads to go. Feel free to post about whatever, but abuse will still be dealt with, and possibly with more force. Especially pac-porno. ;)

Those wacky evangelical scientists

The picture in the background with the hand of god flicking a ball off the table, thus explaining gravity. I thought that was hilarious. Just another crazy theory these guys come up with.

Then I realised I was reading "The Onion".

That I actually believed someone was claiming this just goes to show how common place these wacky claims are getting, religion related or otherwise. Or how gullible I am, take your pick  .

I read that to the point where the proctor uses it in a sentence for him before I suspected it was a gag.

The guy that gives me a lift to work everyday is a 'Creationist'.

Some of the guff, and I mean GUFF he comes out with is scary. This guy is married with kids.
I have to bite my tongue or else it's the train for AL....

I'm tempted to send him this link:

It's tempting, but it's also getting close to the glorious Irish winter, so I keep quiet. It's bugging me at this stage. I just hope I never meet him in a pub or anything or I'll let rip...(not that he'd be in a pub drinking, mind. Probably trying to explain to the customers that the Book of Genesis doesn't say anything about tipping the bar staff so you shouldn't do it, or something).

Cheers,

AL (looking around nervously for a bolt of lightning)

"Evangelical Center For Faith-Based Reasoning" ...Faith based reasoning
"Things fall not because they are acted upon by some gravitational force, but because a higher intelligence, 'God' if you will, is pushing them down,"
Sounds reasonable?
"Let's take a look at the evidence," said ECFR senior fellow Gregory Lunsden."In Matthew 15:14, Jesus says, 'And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.'
Talk about blind leading the blind...

Al, you should buy your friend(or dl from bittor...eh) from carlsagan.com this great series from 80's called "Carl Sagan's cosmos" .Hard to believe in creation theories after watching that, infact I doubt any serious scientist finds it pretty hard to believe.

Agent Smith at Matrix seems to have gotten it's interesting accent from Carl Sagan.

Good call Tommi.

I watched the entire series of 'Cosmos' when it was first aired back in the '80's. Great stuff, great man, great visionary. The book is good also, but can't beat the visuals.

But how can you reason with someone who still believes that the Earth is balanced on two pillars and the Earth is still flat (Book of Genesis). He doesn't bring that up in our 'discussions'. I wonder why?

I also proposed to him the theory of the 'Pink Tea-Pot around Jupiter' lark.
Didn't go down too well, but at least I remained in the car.

Ah well, there's always Armageddon to look forward to, again

Thank God I'm an athiest......

Sloppy

Post by thumb238 »

It is definatly a good try but i mean come on, it strikes me as being rather a bit sloppy and unprofessional, perhaps a few more hours working at it might help.
