Snookered

Somewhere for the annoying and/or off-topic threads to go. Feel free to post about whatever, but abuse will still be dealt with, and possibly with more force. Especially pac-porno. ;)

Woke up this morning to hear the sad news that Paul Hunter has lost his battle with cancer. Shocking news really.

I used to pal around with that fella Joe Delaney. He finally made it to the Crucible! Probably because the qualifiers got moved from Blackpool, where the 'social scene' was hit the pubs and nightclubs every night. Joe was always a man for the beer....

He's a better player than what you are looking at today.
Crucible nerves.

I guess you're watching BBC. Eurosport will show conclusion of Delaney vs Stevens tomorrow at 20 cet.

Add another victim for Crucible jinx, defending champion Dott out.

Way to go Selby!
=D>

A surprise finalist!
Hopefully final will be a close one, though Higgins seems to be on form too...

Yeah great stuff from Selby. You can see the pool player tactics in some of his safety shots. You do know he is the 2006 World 8-ball pool champion?
We're all cheering for him as he's a really nice bloke too.

Go on the pool player!

Poetry in motion. Unbelievable.

Higgins winning UK champs in style, beating Mark Williams 9-8 and finishing off with a nice long double on brown and brilliant blue+pink combo. Yes!

I insist this thread will not die! :)

Sry guys bit late to this thread but:

Higgins bt Williams 10-9 not 9-8.
Excellent and enjoyable match; amazing for Higgins to come back from 5-9 down to win! Especially since Williams had 1 hand on the trophy when he led 9-7 and Higgins needed 1 snooker!
Both players were playing some great stuff, i think Mark lost his cool (first time i think i've ever witnessed that!) and got a little nervous because he was close to such a huge victory. And there are few if any, with more mental strength, composure, and tactical insight than John Higgins, to take advantage of every situation...

The UK Championship actually used to be best of 31 frames (it was changed to 19 frames in 1993 back in Preston apparently, wow i thought it was much later), and it's a shame they reduced it coz i like the really long end-games such as in the World Champ's where the final is always 35 frames played over 2 days :D .

I started watching snooker in 1986 when Joe Johnson won the World Championship.
Since 1998 my house-number is 147 - i am, i am, a snooker-fan  8)

Ye think?

Did you notice all through the tournament that Higgins was nominating a colour when it was obvious what ball he was playing? Very strange, and Higgins has never done that before. And 90% of the time, he lost the frame.

My friend in the snooker circuit tells me that that is the signal to the Asian bookies to bet against him for that frame.

A disgrace!!!!

Yeah, Trump is fantastic. He practices with O'Sullivan,so a great mentor. Needs to lose the 'Bieber' if ye ask me:-)
