For any MARPers lamenting the lack of pinball and can make travel arrangements, read the following e-mail I received yesterday. I've attended this event before and it's incredible what this guy has in his storage building behind his house. Has to be seen to be believed!

Subject: Pinball Fun Night is happening again
The Las Vegas Pinball Collectors Club is having it's fall 2004 Fun Night on Friday Nov. 12th and you are invited. Come and see and PLAY the history of pinball, from classics from as far back as the thirties, up to modern machines with lots of ramps. Over 400 games, all set on FREE PLAY, leave your quarters at home. Soft drinks are also provided at no charge, along with snacks and cookies. Plenty of parking free in the vacant lot.
The fun starts at 5PM and goes till Midnight, come anytime, leave anytime. The power goes off for a few minuets at 10PM for a quick meeting to catch up on club news and draw the winner of our raffle grand prize, A PINBALL MACHINE IN YOUR HOUSE FOR A YEAR! We also give away hundreds of other pinball related prizes.
Raffle tickets can be purchased at the door. Once again, we are letting YOU chose where you raffle purchase goes, to our club building fund, or the Salvation Army. Bring a check and get a nice tax deduction, or cash is welcome. The Salvation Army will be there if you have any questions, and we will have a display outlining our plans to open a pinball museum here in Las Vegas. Our best deal on tickets come at 20 and 50 dollars. With a 50 dollars, you get a limited edition just-for-this event shirt as well!
Food and drinks or smoking are not allowed inside, but there will be a large patio with lots of seating outside. Badges must be worn at all times so you can meet new pinball friends. Shoes that cover the foot and long pants are required. It should be a LOT cooler by November, unlike our spring event which was very warm. Children are welcome, BUT MUST BE KEPT UNDER CONTROL. We have had problem the last few times with Rug-rats hopped up on sugar running and being wild. Our store will once again be open for sale of parts, books, shirts, and stuff. Once again, the BB machine guns from Riverview Park in Chicago will running. These are real machine gun size repeating air rifles that shoot hardened steel balls that DESTROY targets. Do not confuse these with the wimpy lead shot shoot-out-the-star guns at the county fair. Just for fun, Barbie's dream car will be shot to bits.
We will also have a LARGE stock of games for sale. The club has had 68 late model pinballs consigned and most should be ready for sale. All are rebuilt to exacting standards and play like NEW. Proceeds go to our building fund. E-mail if you want a list of what is for sale.
The event is being held in the Big Hit Shed, located at 5625 Gateway, just North of Russell Road between Annie Oakley and Mountain Vista. If you need directions, use this address and zip code 89120 on Mapquest. We will have a sign on Russell with an arrow. This is about 5 miles East of the lower end of the strip, about a 10 dollar cab ride. We always have people leaving that can get you back to the strip.
I keep saying it, but at some point, Fun Night will stop. THIS MIGHT BE THE LAST ONE. Plan to attend. Plan to win some stuff in the raffle. If you have questions, e-mail me at
