Which default settings should we use? 0.106 (Difficulty 1) or current (Difficulty 4)? (And explains why BeeJay makes it look so easy ;))

For reference the default difficulty was first changed to Difficulty 4 in Wolf145. In Wolf144 it was still Difficulty 1.

So that means we should be playing at 1, right?

Since it'll just be deleted later since it's using easier than default settings, I'll upload it here.

Hmmm.... I didn't realise there had been a change to the defaults.... it's a real pain for those of us using older versions of Mame when someone from the MameDev team finds new information to suggest what the "factory defaults" should have been and updates Mame accordingly... I only use 106 because I'm lazy and already have it setup, etc, etc.... I actually use the command prompt to do the recording and subsequent playback test.

Cheers,
BeeJay.

Maybe we're going to need special rules for Time Pilot, to say it's allowed to use difficulty = 1, as deleting all the old recordings is probably a bit draconian...

Great, another reasonable aftershock as I was typing that posting..... when will they ever stop?!?

At least it was no-where near the 7.0 earlier this week just off the coast of "The Naki"... did you feel that one up your way Barry?!?

Update: The preliminary reports are that it was a magnitude 4.9 quake, quite shallow at 13km deep, and centered about 12km from our place. That explains why I felt it so much!!

Cheers,
BeeJay.

Alessandro.S wrote:Someone mentioned this being hard with a keyboard ? For a total newbie as myself it's impossible :(
I play with keyboard. It takes some practice, but once you get used to it, it's not so bad. One nice thing about the keyboard is it is less tiring doing the constant wiggle back and forth you have to do on this game with a keyboard than a joystick. Control is still harder with a keyboard though and not as precise.

Worst thing in the world is trying to play Time Pilot on a notched 8 way joystick. I can't play even one game without it killing my hand.
