Confirmation turnaround time?

Post by artz »

How long should we allow between the time we submit a score to the time it is confirmed?

I submitted an .inp on July 12th, but have noticed that people who have submitted scores after that have already had theirs confirmed. Also, when I did submit the score, I received an error message, I can't remember what it was, but it still showed up on the site. Maybe the error message is the reason why the score hasn't been confirmed.

Thanks

July 12th, 2002? I've got recordings dating back to 1998 that have yet to be confirmed. Some of those are 1st places too. These things happen...

A lot of old recordings get forgotten about because some people don't want to bother using old versions of MAME to play them back, or people only feel like confirming the newest recordings. Perhaps I should start working through the "backlog" of old recordings that have been forgotten about...

Thanks for replying BBH,

The reason I was asking is because I submitted 3 scores back on June 20th. All three were confirmed within 2 1/2 hours by two different people. Those are the only three that I have ever submitted, so I thought a few hours was normal.

I also noticed scores over a year old that hadn't been confirmed, but thought those were just scores that had fallen thru the cracks.

Yah, it all depends on who's active and who's not. I've been trying to make sure that all MAME61 recordings are confirmed or at least being looked at by an editor. When that slows down, I'll go backwards through the MAME versions.

BBH, there's also the reason that some of us can't get certain versions of MAME to play correctly in order to confirm the file. :( If I could, I would.
