Should MARP go to Wikipedia?

Post by The TJT »

I have noticed that TG at one point added videogame records to Wikipedia pages, for example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Track_%26_ ... tive_Arena
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_(v ... e)#Records

...But annoyingly ignored MAME records.

I think MAME records should be mentioned there as well... like "Player John Doe currently holds the MAME record for Donkey Kong with 1,000,000 points" - followed by a "reference" to TG MAME record or MARP record (which one is the highest), or both.

That way MAME records and MARP would get a little more recognition, fame and fortune. :D
That is, for games that actually have an article in Wikipedia, which is not many.

Now if we don't know the actual name of the MAME record holder, just tell that "The MAME record for the game is 1,000,001" with link to a "reference" (aka MARP).

Also MARP records listing for the game could be added to "External links" - section, for example:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix_(v ... rnal_links

What do you think? Anybody having problem with their name being on Wikipedia?

Or, hell, we could just put MARP scores on Wikipedia and forget about the TG MAME records. MARP is anyway the definitive standard on MAME records... first one and the biggest, with best scores. International.

How about calling MARP "International MAME scoreboard" ...let TG be "intergalactic", whatever that means with arcade games. :P

Interesting TJT. I write articles in forums and webs about MAME and Arcade Records and explain the diferences between TG and MARP, and I make publicity about MARP how the "definitive standard on MAME records"

That's great Zid.
