On Gamest, Rod Land record for Story 2 is 1.177.900. The record posted some days ago is around 21M.
How can there be such a gap with the Gamest result which should be a world record?
Anyone knows?

Just to give a response on two foots,it could be that(in no particular order):
-the Gamest record is wrong(like for KikiKaiKai).
-the Gamest record counts only one loop,if the game is loopable.
-Hisa used some leeching technique which is "banned" for Gamest.

Well, if it's banned for Gamest then it should be banned here also. We all know Gamest is far more lenient about what it does or doesn't allow than we are here at MARP. In other words any technique they do ban is such an obvious abuse of playing the game that we definitely would ban it here at MARP also.

I don't know if that is the case here or not.

I would have to watch the inp myself but it was mentioned at #marp he used some trick that makes each hit on the final boss worth 1 million points each.

I say allow Hisa to let us in on the trick and his input on whether it's something that was bannable or actual gameplay secret... I haven't seen it yet and even when I do, I'd like to get his input before judging... he DOES deserve that

I believe the tact saying I would need to watch the inp myself says the same thing you do.

I'm not judging his performance at all.

I was merely informing what was mentioned by OTHERS at #marp that had watched the inp.

Well,Hisa replied to this(then deleted) saying that the record on the sheet is simply outdated...

His (deleted) reply doesn't mean anything...
He had used obliviously a trick to raise 1 milion for every hit to the balls....

ah,now things are clearer:

Again Hisa has said that Gamest record is 99 millions 'cause the player who used the trick used it all the time,Hisa just leeched for some time which is fair IMO.

BTW and AFAIK my best Combat School recording is 402,320 in the bootleg version which is the same difficulty of the original.Gamest matches the same difficulty of the one used on the rec,and the reason of the recording too short in Boot Camp it's mainly due of the trackball controls emulation in MAME that gets stuck in some places...

Is it a trick or a bug of the game?

A trick without any doubts, even though I can't see if there's an actual difference.

By the way, I am very curious to know how Novice used that trick..

This propose is very terrible one.
Gamest ban all scores without finish the game.(if game has limited-stage)

I think 95%+ recordings turn to DQ of all MARP recordings.

Well, in case it ever comes to a vote, how did you get it to give you a million points for every hit?

Notice that I was just doing a supposition,I surely don't know what is and what isn't banned by Gamest.

btw the Gamest rule about unfinished games isn't so bad! ;)
