WCC6 week 2 : SSTRIKER

Game for week 2 will be a shooter :
"Sorcer Striker" (short name = sstriker).
The game has 2 loops with 6 bosses each.
Special bonus points :
4 pts to the first to finish 1st loop (already done on Marp).
6 pts to the first to finish 2nd loop and the game (never accomplished on Marp).
These points will be cumulative if the same person accomplish the 2 tasks, in 1 input or several.
Reminder : these bonus points will stay avalaible till the end of WCC6 (17 March)

I like this game (it's mahoudai clone). In previous year I finished first loop. Game is more than cool.

Unfortunately my computer keeps dropping out of full speed play with this game, so i am unable to compete.

You need an upgrade
Runs fine on my 5-year-old 950MHz Athlon, under Yoper Linux 2.1.0.

It's weird, it's a 3 gig P4 (about 2 years old) and games that used to run fine now often slow down for a few moments. Very annoying!

Could be your antivirus app, or possibly a timing issue (try using -rdtsc or -nordtsc, whichever you're not using). Might help to see what Windows Task Manager shows as far as CPU usage goes, too.

Ace13, are you using an nVidia video card? I had a problem like yours about 2 months ago when I upgraded my video drivers to the newest version. It seems that the 8x.xx drivers have horrible 2D performance, bad enough to cripple MAME on certain games. After going back to version 77.76, the problem disappeared.
