Lemmings voting

Post by Gameboy9 »

OK - I'm going to place four motions on the table. All votes will expire March 8 at 2359 GMT.

1. To allow more than one credit in this game. This requires a 2/3 vote because it's contradicting a MARP standing rule.

2. To score 1 point / lemming saved, -10 points / continue you use. When score is negative, game over.

3a. MARP score: (100 * starting level) + (25 - killed lemmings + saved lemmings) (Kale's rule)

3b. MARP score: (30 * starting level) + (25 - killed lemmings + saved lemmings) (My variation - everyone would start at level 56 under the first proposal)

4. MARP score: 1 / lemming saved, 10 / completed stage, -5 / continue used. (my idea, dividing everything by 10)

All in favor of EACH motion will signify by saying "aye". All opposed will signify by saying "no". If you don't want to vote on a motion, please say "abstain" so I don't get confused. :) Please list ALL motions in your vote, again, so I don't get confused. (which means don't say "aye on c only") :)

My votes: 1. Aye 2. Aye 3a. No 3b. No 4. Aye GB9

1. No. Lemme say that again: NO.

2. If we're going to be using mahjong-type scoring as well (highest
score achieved is your final score), aye - otherwise, no.

3a. Aye.
3b. No.

4. No.

runs of only a few selected levels.

3a. No 3b. No

1-aye
2,3a,3b-nay
4-aye

either of the "3"s would result in people starting always at the last
entry point at lvl 50something

Not that I've actually tried the prototype arcade version yet, so I'm
basing these answers on the previous discussion and what I remember
from the PC/Miggy versions:

1. Aye - lemmings deserves more of a run than 1 credit sounds like it
will allow.

2. Nay - unless option 4 doesn't mean game over when score is
negative in which case make this an Aye vote.

3a. Nay

3b. Nay

4. Aye - assuming game is still over when score goes negative on this
variant. If not, then 2 gets my Aye vote and 4 gets a Nay vote
instead.

I'm presuming here that we've already agreed you should have to start
the game on Level 1?

Cheers,
Patwos.

Option 2 says game over when the score goes negative. Option 4
calculates your performance into an "MARP competitive score" - so it
can calculate leaderboard points efficiently. That's why it's
common to combine aye votes for 2 and 4... GB9
