Mame.dk R.I.P.

Post by DRN »

For those who did'nt know, mame.dk have shut up shop for good. They will still offer a database service and screenshots etc but all roms have been removed due to a threat from a copyright owner. Getting roms for new releases is going to be alot more tricky from now on :(

Eh, that blows. Just will have to search around again, like the good
ol' days.

Interesting........

Took me around 1 minute to find more than 3 sites with all the roms..

Why don't u just use MIRC or news groups??

Oh yeah, don't send any begging E-mails! ;-)

GG - The thing is they are available now but on a release date those
sites are going to be hit real bad and chances are they will go down
in a short time. Mame.dk used to struggle and they had shit hot
servers.
I know newsgroups can be a good place to get them. I know of one
address and you can correct me if I'm wrong but I think it
is 'alt.binaries.emulators.misc' off the top of my head.
IRC would be a very cool place to get hold of roms. Setting it up is
the hard part, I wouldnt know where to start! :(

if u want all the roms just go on MIRC and visit #dc4free or #dc-zone
(Think that's the one!) download the dreamcast verson of mame, think
it's 57 files @ 19mb each, this will give u every single rom in one
go!!!

Obviously, if you are on dial up forget it!

Later

Think I'm just about ready for a comeback:

http://www.virtualinsanity.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Dell Dimension 8200 P4, Gforce3 64mb, 21" flat utrascan monitor,
Arcade X panel, Platinum soundcard digital out to a Cambridge
soundworks dolby 5.1 surround sound system...

Now to build the cabinet!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
