The Greatest Show On Earth.......?

Post by Alex Weir »

I`ve seen some great recordings here at MARP , and some great games in arcades way back then, but Hisa-Chans' INP of Rainbow Islands tops the lot. Period.

Steve Krogman spoke of Hisa-Chans ' shooter ' skills, but this is exceptional .( R.Islands )

And like I always said , supposed records on Arcade games have to stand the Japanese test. These guys are awesome.

Hopefully, Hisa-Chan can bring some more players to the fray ?

I'll say... Hisa-Chan has made such an impact with a mere four
recordings (I've seen three of them - Raiden, Magic Sword, and
Rainbow Islands). It will probably mean my (and probably everyone
else's) points go spiralling downwards, but if this is the quality
we get, I'd say it's worth it. I'm looking forward to Hisa-Chan's
next upload...

I agree. These are some truly incredible uploads. The scary thing is
that he keeps commenting on his "poor play"... looks pretty damn good
to me!

Hey Hisa-Chan, you wouldn't happen to have any Gamest's that list the
Japanese high score record for Shock Troopers, would you? ;)

It was really poor.
My best record of RAIDEN (my youthful days)was over 7.5million(3-
3).
but I know some over 10million players in Japan.
#Japanese version stop game when you died.It makes much more
difficult.
that 3.4 million is 4th or 5th play during these 7years.wait more
pls.......

31,356,100 on Shock Troopers?!? Oh my god, I'd love to see that. My
all-time best is 29,594,600, and I thought I'd squeezed as many points
out of the game as I could... maybe this player has perfected doing a
multi-shot kill into close-range attack consistently...

Thanks Hisa-Chan, now I feel inferior. ;)

Gee, this is a flashback.

And, of course, BBH has demolished that 31M score on Shock Troopers
now as we all know.

I no longer feel inferior.

As I had suspected, multi-shot into close-range kill is the key... the
only thing that was holding me back was that I was playing with blood
on. I thought it did not affect the gameplay in any way, but I was
wrong... at random times when shooting an enemy your shots will no
longer push them back because their arm will get blown off their body
or something gory like that. With blood off you can always push them
back with repeated shots for maximum points. (it's better explained by
the .inps...)

Sadly, if I'd known this a year ago I could have easily taken the
record then. But at least now I know for sure I'm the best Shock
Troopers player in the world. It's given me a swollen head about it,
but dammit, I've played the game so much I feel I've earned that
title... even if hardly anybody cares about it.

I want a predecessor that I can pass along my level patterns to
though. :) You have no idea how in-depth I could be in explaining
what to do on each level.

It'd be easier to pass your secrets to a successor. :)

Blah, why am I in correction mode today? Congratulations again.
So do you still think the limit is ~33.2 million, or can you go
higher?

The thing about Shock Troopers is... every time I think I've reached
the limit in terms of points, I manage to drive it higher. :) 33.2
million seemed reasonable, but now I believe it's a bit higher. 34
million still looks a little unlikely though. Perhaps I should post
some of my score analyzations...
