Actually just wanted to say it playbacks correctly, upload confirmed.
Phil may have had issues at playback if he used turbo speed while the coin was being inserted. It happened to me also on a second, all fastened, playback.
Coin is being inserted near frame ~13700, you can use turbo before and after that, but not in that precise moment.
edit: just tested Phil's replay, by unlocking speed the same effect happens, all regular at 100% speed.

Just leaving a memory in case of playback issues with this or other DECO cassette system games.

that sounds an awful lot like a MAME bug

% speed shouldn't make any difference to game logic or if a coin is inserted or not

if it does, the reason why needs to be tracked down and fixed

I'd guess it's something to do with the PORT_IMPULSE logic in replays when frames get skipped, in which case the logic is broken in MAME, because it should not be affected by frameskip.

I've changed the comments on Brian's upload to reflect this and added a reference this forum posting.

Yes, I've pressed F10 at the beginning of the playback.
It's new to me that it can affect the playbackability

I did not coin this one up right away .. I would start The rom and go to other screens and come back .. Most of the time it was about the time for the game to load.

for this game something kept me from making it back to the game faster .

Yeah I f10 my recording and watched it .. everything is good on my end.

I came across this issue when watching cgraplop2 INPs. Essentially coin inputs can be missed when skipping frames. Running unthrottled is fine, however. So for any DECO cassette game, at least, just be weary when using frameskip or fast-forward when watching or recording INPs.
