I take it we're allowed to use TG settings for this game:
Difficulty: HARDEST
Lives: 20k/70k/70k
Especially given that we'll need to be on non-default difficulty to get through round 256, assuming anyone makes it that far of course!
Cheers,
BeeJay.

Correct, but TG settings have always been welcomed at Marp, even in previous tournaments.
This was more of a reminder for empardopo as he didn't mention anything about changing the default settings for this game and there's no way possible to beat the 1st place Marp score if we can't change the difficulty as the game will lock up on stage 256 on default settings.
Cheers,
BeeJay.

Coordinator, please specify ASAP if it's necessary to play on default settings (I think so)

i have never played any of these games, and i don't even have the roms.
so this tournament will be either great fun or a complete nightmare. wolf106 does not even recocnise "galaga". i have all the clones there, but no galaga...

Ok. I'll delete the score I put up yesterday as that used TG settings.
Note: It will not be possible to beat the 1st place MARP score with these settings as the game will lock up in the unlikely(?) event that someone manages to reach stage 256.
Cheers,
BeeJay.

I've put up a new 1,709,960 recording using default settings:
http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/d/5/9/bj_ ... olf106.zip
Some purple moments in amongst some absolute gob-smackingly dumb play.... including losing my last life with a fighter captured.
Cheers,
BeeJay.
