Which version of MAME did we settle on?

Dax, if you look at http://jeuxmaths.free.fr/marpt7/t7.htm it lists:

Versions of ALPHAMAME to use : 0.70 (Windows), 0.70 (DOS), or 0.70 (Linux).

I have no complains, just two questions:

1)

As it seems that most of the marpers wants to use Wolfmame in T7, why is Alphamame the only choice? Just curious.

2)

I wonder why the scoring in Cameltry has been changed. Granted that it stops any leeching, but it also removes the skill of brickbreaking and turn it into a speed game only.

Both 1 and 2 are ok with me (I will not have much time to play in t7 anyway *sob*) , I just wonder why :)

No more questions from me, and good luck to you all!

I wondered about this too... granted, I was one of the ones that voted for AlphaMAME 0.70, but of course WolfMAME is fine with me too. Still, it seems odd...

Also, out of curiosity, did you just take the first games in alphabetical order that fit into different genres? In the past the games were pulled out from random and then game no. 1 would have precedence over any later picks of that genre, etc. I feel sorry for anyone that voted for a game that started with a letter in the second half of the alphabet. :(

but then again Kyros got in, hahahaha this is gonna be wacky

Of course, but why Alphamame instead of Wolfmame?

I recall reading in that huge Camel Try debate that there was some way to choose different balls... how do you do it?

Wow, I haven't played a tournament on MARP in ages. I guess since gigasm2b is included, I should probably play this one....

Hold start and press button 1. You'll not only get the steel ball, but the space invader, bonze, operation wolf soldier, chack'n, and others.

Good choice alpha. Wolfmame will not be jugglery versions how this usually is.

QRS :
1) As I said in the version thread, it was not a poll, so I don't care of what "most of marpers want" ( for that question, I mean :). I just had to do a choice, I did it. A discussion with Skito about that lead me to the choice of Alphamame, especially to have a dos version.
2 ) Cameltry : Here again, a matter of choice ... I don't say it's better than another, but I had to make a choice. No leeching problem, and why not testing speed skills :)

BBH :
There was a random order ( different from alphabetic order ) but I didn't publish it ,keeping secret the games that were in the top of the list, to prevent training. I took the 8 first games in that list that fit in different genres, and none of us begins by a letter over "M" ... Strange, but true :)

Regular MARP:
kyros - BBH 1st
cybattler - BBH 1st

Interesting choice to T7

Why are all the games except magdrop-sm and mappy awarding 7pts for the 1st place instead of 8pts?

Am I missing something?
