Re: Please reconsider splits on puzzle bobble-style games
You say that on hard difficulty a player can max out the normal difficulty scoring. Well, for Puzzle Bobble I very much doubt that can be done. as I stated it's not exactly the same as guitar hero....but similar in that you are diluting the scoreboard and odds are that same gamer(s) that have WR sc...

Re: Leaderboard
I think on moving MARP to a new host it's not 100% setup yet or maybe the leaderboard part was overlooked on the move. not many care much about the leaderboard anymore although it still can be handy to click first place for a gamer to see just first place scores for that gamer to see if any you can ...

Re: BBH's dyndukj
ok, so one of those with playback issues I guess.
wonder if watched without using F10 might play back fully....might be worth a shot. no time for me to do that today...or maybe even this coming week. a co-worker is on vacation which will have me working about 55-60 hours this coming week. ahhh!

BBH's dyndukj
verifying some missed 1st place scores... BBH's dynduke...plays back only to 240,860 for me. ninja boss on mission 4 owns him. :P initials entered wrong though so wonder if it fell out of sync. it is still good for first place...just lower score than reported score of 362,050. http://replay.marpirc....

Re: Please reconsider splits on puzzle bobble-style games
I don't like the idea for this anymore than for TG and guitar hero tracks tracking the score for each song at each difficulty. cmon...track only highest score for each song. Anyone scoring really high on hard or expert level is going to be able to match or max out easy or medium. little point to doi...

Re: The Official "ZTNet Sucks" Thread
it does work on the new site though....what a waste of resources to download 9999. it was set as that for my new cookie. I realized this when I clicked the loads and after about 30 seconds realized it likely was transferring 9999. I changed it to 100 for myself. given activity at MARP nowadays, 50 l...

Re: The Official "ZTNet Sucks" Thread
sweet...maybe on the search page instead of the 9999 limit make the max default 500. I can't see someone even wanting 500 really...but it allows for flexibility. I look at either 50 or 100. Recently I redid my system so made new cookies. On doing so, the default uploads would crash on me. I went to ...

Re: The Official "ZTNet Sucks" Thread
1 gig of network traffic per day?!?!? that seems a lot more than I expected. how many hits on MARP per day? around 10,000? how many hits on the "loads" from uploads page? while "fancy", consider removing the snapshots from the "loads" page? someone has show last 1000 sc...

Re: MAME 0.128u5 INP file Changes
personally I wish they would have added the inp compression as an option(is it?!?). it takes more CPU now so games that maybe barely played at speed before now won't cuz the compression. I know even games like centiped...running 3-4 times SLOWER in 130 than in 106. sorry...make your compression an o...

Re: MAME 0.128u5 INP file Changes
in 0.130....inps are compressed also. It depends on the game if zipping results in further compression...but maybe not worth zipping at that point anyway. but then again...still would want the .zip so a snapshot(s) and perhaps info.txt file type of thing can be included with the inp. for centiped, z...

Re: The Official "ZTNet Sucks" Thread
wow...for a small fee are they willing to provide a couple DVDs of the backup of the scores database? otherwise...seems it's all gone... man, was just setting new personal highs on centipede for myself. not sure why but suddenly I have improved on these games. :P BTW, I had saved the top_3 scores ab...

Re: wolf130 and nvram
I notice it does not load the nvram file though...as I can do just mame centiped and even the centiped.nv file created from the last recording is NOT loaded in on launching even just the direct wolfmame...not using the batch which renames the nv to bak before launching then names back after done pla...

wolf130 and nvram
Hey Barry, just installed and was playing around with the new wolfmame release 0.130. It seems even when using -record to record an inp a nvram file is getting created. I didn't think that was supposed to happen with wolfmame. yes, I use modifications of your batch files that includes renaming the ....

Re: How to play with tg settings?
I wish someone at TG would take the time to make cfg files for all of their games they have tracks for. it would be nice. however, some games like robotron, you have to go into service mode to set the right settings...and since nvram use isn't allowed, you would have to set that at that start of eac...

Re: New Olympic-Standings style leaderboard
A limited number in 24 hours would not be a very great solution either as A) It works against people who upload all their weeks recordings in one go ok, so let's say you set a score each day over a week...7 scores to submit. You submit 5 at the end of the week and the other 2 the following day. tha...
