They block everything they can - but then they're my work not a real ISP so it's not surprising they block this type of stuff. {;-þ)

I would, but unfortunately I still don't have an ISP that allows IRC. :(

Hey Seymour - can you change my designation?

Seymour, I've noticed my postings still say Editor - even though I've not been an editor for over a year now. If there is a designation of Ex-Editor then that would remove potential for confusion between myself and the real Editor Pat. Hmm... that almost sounds too much like Postman Pat... ;-) If no...

February 2nd, 1998 Strewth..... 6 years since I first started helping Zwaxy by reviewing inps? Is it really that long?! Those were the days..... when between the 2 of us we could keep all inps reviewed and confirmed..... Of course it wasn't so automated back then - I had to e-mail Zwaxy my confirma...

What is your frontend of choice?

Having just purchased a newer computer, I now have a machine capable of playing Mame again, I thought what better time to get a new frontend than now.

What is everyones front-end of choice for Mame and what features in particular do you like about your front-end of choice?

Cheers,
Pat.

Hm...............

I just tried a game using Mame055 and it was frameskipping at 8 or 9 in order to achieve 100% speed making the game crap to play - managed 155k which I guess wasn't bad for my first attempt. Given this was fixed in m34beta would m35tg3b (Dos) be acceptable to use so that I get full speed without fra...

No worries from me.........

I had no idea what this game played like as I never saw it in the arcades. Will try it on a later release to see what the difference is - assuming this game will run at full speed on a crusty old K6II-300.... :) Patwos. PS: Some of us have to use Mame035 or 036 in order to get full speed on games si...

Ok for me

Plays back perfectly for me using Mame32-36b16 version.

Although without the graphics corruption in this game at the end of the Hawaii stage, where Matt was up to, I'm sure he could have seen the bullets more easily and perhaps made it even further in the game.

Also, if I don't put in a -soundcard=n setting on my command line, then I get the same behaviour as yourself with respect to it just returning straight back to the command prompt. Perhaps adding a -soundcard=n setting, where n is the appropriate number for your system, will allow you to run the dos ...

It was when the omegarace.cfg file was missing that it would crash and burn for me.

But then again, I would not have had a mame.cfg file in the directory in question when I first tried to play it back as well but it created that one when it did the initial playback attempt.

It played back successfully to the claimed 219100 for me and I have therefore confirmed the score. I did have some problems with those dreaded "sigsegv" errors getting the dos version of alphamame to run and in the end I had to play the game myself first so that the cfg file existed and th...
