I'm still new at this, but isn't it just easier to have separate mame32 and mame dos directories? Play the games in mame32 and play the recordings in mame dos. It works for me. I have mame32 .058 for games, and when i want to view an .inp, i just download the .inp and the mame version .exe and run i...

I've been able to run all .inp's (about 8 so far) using the dos file name. Most .inp's have the same windows and dos names, but a couple have different, namely the one i mentioned on my first post. All I've done is unzipped the .inp's in the .inp folder, and also keep the unzipped files of the inp's...

ERROR: required files are missing...
Thanks Kale, kfx,
kfx, if you can send that to me I would appreciate it. I updated my profile so my email address is on there now.
I actually tried running a couple of the .inp's for Donkey Kong on mame53 or mame 56, and got some strange results.

ERROR: required files are missing...
I just recently check the old forum archives, and didn't see any problems related to this. Since my last post, I've been able to run most games .inp files without any problems. The only problem I seem to be running into now is Donkey Kong. I've gotten this message on two games. The message I've been...

Barry, I figured it out. I was using the the windows name for the inp which was TUT-ST-356,560 and should have been using the dos name for the inp which was TUT-ST~1. I right clicked and selected properties on the .inp file and saw the dos name was different. I've been using Mame32 for about a year ...

Playback recordings
Hello everyone, I've downloaded mame 36 final for dos, got it from mame.net/oldmame.html (listed as mame036b.zip. I followed the instructions on the playback guide and at the C:\Mame> prompt typed: mame tutankst -playback TUT-ST-356,560 It will not play the recording for me. All it does is start a n...
