Isn't this taking splitting a bit far? What's gonna happen when MAME starts emulating arcade MAME cabinets ? A 7000 way split!?

It's keyboard lag.

I've noticed it in every MAME since the K6 tourney including 122 and not just on my machine. Could just be that I'm sensitive to it, even 1 frame of lag is noticeable.

Didn't view that many inps this year but the Smash TV one I did see. Some skill and knowledge of the game was definitely shown there.

Anyone else noticing some extra keyboard input lag in the more recent versions of MAME? Not all games but most games are responding to keys 2 or 3 frames too late which makes new high score attempts a bit tricky. Alien Sector (aliensec) is a nice little game. One of games I used to enjoy playing on my old micro and didn't realize it was based on a real arcade game until many years later when I came across it emulated in MAME. Stratavox is another.

LN2 that website is wholly addictive, I got up to 4 million on the leaderboard then 'quit'. But then I created another username and I can't help going back once in a while to keep my eye trained .

Emuloader would be fine if it was finished but for me it's too unstable, bloated, buggy and unintuitive (I mean that in a constructive way). Some early Space Invaders machines annoyingly have the controls the "wrong" way round. It's always seemed strange that in a predominantly righthanded world the movement controls are usually put on the left.
