Re: Outrun - Offroad or not.
Firstly, I have no doubt you could wipe off QRS's top score on Outrun Novice as indeed I have no doubt you could wipe off all of my top scores if you wanted. I know I am not the best in the world, my uploads just seemed like a good idea at the time. I don't think it is good to create bad feelings by...

Screensize 'Auto' Not Working In Mame32 0.64
For me some games such as brival, f1gp2, smashtv (probably others as well) do not select a suitable screen resolution. The screensize selected is too big and off centred to the bottom and right. The only way out is to select a manual screensize for these games but then this has an unwanted side effe...

Thanks Borjaquake. Let me clarify the method though, I typed that post very quickly last thing at night. To prevent the nvram folder from recreating itself: 1. DELETE the nvram folder. 2. Open up notepad and save an empty text file inside the MAME directory. 3. Rename this file to 'nvram' without an...

Re: Stopping MAME0.63 regenerating the nvram folder
How about creating a read only dummy file called 'nvram' and putting it in the MAME directory, would that work?

Re: ban side firing leech on tndrcade and clones
I vote no ban of course. If you were to walk into an arcade and employ this technique at the end of the game, is the arcade manager going to walk up to you and say "sorry sir that leeching technique is banned, please stop using it"? Probably not. My point is that only the score you achieve...

QRS wrote: I hope we learn by this and in the future at least TRY to discourage leeching even if it is a grey area. Well I haven't changed my mind on this, I am a purist and when I joined MARP I thought the idea was to get the high score for a game and post your inp. Since I've joined, people have l...

Re: Final try to stop all leeching in Toki.
My opinion on this subject has always been the same. The bottom line is that in a real arcade you aim to get the high score and leave the machine with your name at the top of the chart. I have never agreed with putting artificial parameters on the way you should play the games, if this makes for bor...

You stupid boy, don't you know anything? j/k :) Firstly, make sure that you're using the same version of MAME that was used to make the original recording although there is a good chance that with more recent versions this need not always be necessary. Then unzip the inp into the inp director...

Marp Rules Section 2j, Recording More Than One Game Per .inp
I move that one should be allowed to record more than one game per .inp for certain types of game. For example, I would like to have a 10 game continuous blast at Marble Madness and submit the best score achieved. This would save me having to escape out of MAME and re-running the game and waiting th...

Re: Marble Madness Rulez
Tommi, your 172k inp for set 1 is actually for the romset which is now set 2. However in order to play it back you must rename marble2 to marble and use the same version of mame you used to record it. Personally I think we should stick to the defaults for all the sets even if that makes set 1 easier...
