oh, I totally agree you can't continue if you lose your lives, however should the game end just because the timer runs out?

How much time is "3900" anyway?

There is no way some of those playchoice scores for certain games were done with only 1 credit. I thought the idea was 1 "game" with no benefit from a previous game or benefit from buying in. For playchoice games more credits just gives more time to play. It doesn't change how the game its...

I see the exact same thing for those games in version 60.

I'll have to try an older version as noted above to see if it's ok there. It is hard to play when you can't see your guy except in turns...plus parts of the environment also aren't drawn.

MARP should follow TG on games like those and make special rules for them as MARP already has for games like Q*bert so the 5-man only score is all that matters. TG has 5-men Gyruss and Galaga categories. I was surprised to see MARP hasn't set those to 5-men only. You could review those inps for thos...

It used to be that way, back in the mists of time... Scores calculated using 10 for 1st, 3 for 2nd, and 1 for 3rd are still listed on the leaderboard. no, no. I mean by MARP points(based on TG) the 100 points assigned to first and points to second and third based on the percentage of the first plac...

The only other thread I have seen about the leaderboard other than this one in the 3 months I have been participating at MARP is the thread where some were complaining that some on the leaderboards aren't individuals but are in fact teams so in their account preferences they should select the option...

Ghemant, you have a point to part of your post. I am sure there are some that just submit tons of what some of us would call "average" scores that you could match or easily beat playing the game the very first time. You shouldn't be jealous of them just cuz they are higher on some leaderbo...

whoa, how did the BB code not filter that word in BBH's posts yet does in others? :P BBH, it's overall a compliment IMHO cuz they are trying to knock down your accomplishments of high scores. They are trying to make up for their own inadequencies for tons of other games they can't play for crap. hehe

LOL Darren, however you bring up a good point. I wonder if many of these numerous game recordings were played at 95+% speed.

Not sure why you regard the laser fire so highly. It's useless for levels where you have blocks behind the gold blocks so you can't shoot them. It really depends on the stage. For stage 3 for example you definitely want the catch or if a ball is way up there already and a D is falling I definitely g...

Barry, yeah for inps that only playback in mac60 correctly I just select other 0.60 from the version list and note I actually used macmame60 in the description. I can understand that but then you could just remove the mac36 as well. It gives the impression that if you are playing macmame version 0.3...

I believe it is more of a they don't want to belong to MARP. But I don't know the whole story, or even if that is the correct answer, so you could ask on the MacMAME boards over at http://www.emuverse.com . Well, perhaps, but when I first started submitting scores to MARP I quickly noticed the only...

I think for a game like this whatever the default MAME settings are should prevail. If that means you get lesser number of men using win61 versus an older mame version...I guess there isn't much you can do about that. I have seen other games where older versions of MAME were used cuz the default MAM...

The TG tournament/competition version of MAME was never ported to the Mac so that isn't an option for me. It's why I didn't compete with MAME in the past as competitions were requiring those versions 1.5-2 years ago. negative1, on the "junior" boards your sit spot is the only safe one I kn...

Re: _more_ms_pacman_

by the way, i always pause the game every hour or so, because i don't want my hands cramping up.. If I paused the game after an hour and took a break to let my hands rest and warm them up by washing in warm water etc. then I likely could return and do that a few times and reach the kill-screen myse...
