Re: Archive these games -topic

why was his ban short termed? I think us players should vote on something like this? No Brian, sorry, even though I can understand your sickness about the question, a ban should be applied only by judgement of an administrator. I believe nothing would prevent community to have a poll - it's not lik...

Re: Archive these games -topic

The following game could probably do with archiving due to it being "unplayable" on the stage most people have died on without the laser disc imagery - unless of course it is now fully playable with a CHD for the laser disc imagery? http://replay.marpirc.net/r/usvsthem Again, this will im...

Re: tv-roms sets

I'd say in their current state of emulation they're technically just console games, because none of the timer / automated game start logic that was unique to the arcade system is actually emulated, it's literally the same thing as running them in the PCE driver right now. Even if the timer logic wa...

Not quoting anything specific, and yes this is why I didn't want to have much discussion over this, it's not the right place. I knew people would have disagreed with me, perhaps I also shouldn't write posts at 4 in the morning otherwise I risk to be not fully understood. You dudes have all a point i...

Re: sfchampion - ffreveng: slow speed

That ban, at that time, would have prevented lot of awful experiences. People just not fucking responding to him would eliminate most of the problem... Also the forum and the entire site not existing would totally eliminate any problem. That seems flawless, doesn't it? Please... you can't be sure t...

I am barely surprised that you tolerated this many offenses before finally banning him. Even if it's only 7 days and only forum. I do think the sentence is too light, but... whatever. If I had admin access he would have been banned a long time ago. Just for the sake of clarification, my "you&q...

Re: Archive these games -topic

Hi all. Although I am not very active lately, as a member of this community, I want to share my thoughts. I've never cared and I still don't care about the leaderboard. Users polluting MARP with crappy replays is not an issue for me. I simply ignore them and only look at per-game rankings for games...

Then, do not wonder that people don't participate to forums that often anymore. I wasn't even following the progress of the spam, only a friend told me.

How many people do you need again? That is NOT the point - I wasn't needed at all, this test game IS easy. End of the question. Now give me back my 8 minutes of time spent for reading your message, setting the game, recording until 50 reached, playbacking, and uploading  wolf183 to be used if ...

Re: Archive these games -topic

flyball and clone flyball1 obviously need to be archived. Classic 1976 Atari game for a 2P challenge. I also agree on Mogura Desse. It was not even conceived as a game to distribute, it was a test board used to test buttons and joysticks when still in factory; reason more to state it was not program...

Connect Four... please! It's basically a Tetris ...

Furthermore I'd argue that Mahjong is based on luck and strategy around equally as much as, say, 'Solitaire'. The basic idea of Solitaire and Mahjong is the same: Picking a matching card/tile which frees cards/tiles underneath. Which card/tile you pick is strategy while which card/tile gets reveale...
