Re: Konami's disdain for the US market.

Lightning Fighters - the only exception to the rule?!? US version starts you off with one bomb, and when you die you pick up where you left off. Trigon (the Japanese version) starts you with no bombs and when you die you go back in the level. Wow... Actually, the US version of Trojan has you lose o...

Re: Where do get full versions of older mames??

As far as having a slow computer, thats what the dos versions are for. I have no sympathy for people with this problem anyway, it is 2002 for God's sake, if you're still on a p3 then it's no ones fault but your own. While it's true that the DOS version of MAME is the fastest, it's certainly not by ...

It could be that the inp was renamed under Windows to something that the DOS version won't recognise. Try using the short DOS name for the file instead (xxxxxx~1)

Aw geez, I did know how to get it at one point... something to do with going to the random square on the select screen, and doing some combination of joystick movements, I think. BBH should know. :)

Heh, I nearly beat my Twinkle Star Sprites high yesterday without even looking like finishing it. 2,256,770 - max hit 51.

What I hate are those that say "I hate this game" or "This game sucks", especially when the score isn't all that impressive.

Make sure you're using an older version of MAME (0.36 is good) as the System16 driver is still being re-written. Will be ready in 2006 (of course :) )

Could be, as that's what essekappa normally uses. It's just that that hasn't been a problem before.

Oh well, I guess that's how Joey got it to playback then. Right, Joey?

Latest one doesn't work either. Stops at the round 20 boss, although it really lost sync a long time before that (failing to setup 10s and 100s digits constantly when it was clearly attempted).

That's because the sound CPU (6502, if I remember right) handles the coin inputs too. When MAME runs with sound disabled, it doesn't emulate any CPU marked as a sound CPU. Anyway, one of his inps does playback correctly, but requires default NVRAM. So I figure that either he's played it a lot, assum...
