Re: ESP.RA.DE. Final Scoring - BBH

Maybe you'll understand it better than I do. :) They have a score on there of 43 Million for this...12 Million for Dangun Feveron....694 Million for Dodonpachi....274,138,842,917,010 on Gigawing....I mean it's just insane. Blazing Star score of 67 Million...just makes me wanna (cry). ;) there's a 7...

Would you REALLY be willing to set aside a few hours of your life to watch a Metroid inp from beginning to end to verify the length it took, and all the items that were picked up? IIRC (it might only be the two later games in the Metroid series, which would figure), it'll show the time taken to com...

Re: Playchoice-10 Issues

Metroid - no clear-cut scoring system. If one was desperate for a scoring system, I would recommend scoring it by number of "major items" picked up (the ball at the beginning, missile maximum extensions, energy tank extensions, other weapons, etc.). But you would have to make sure you cou...

So is the scoring system:

((your score * 2) - (opponent's score)) * (difficulty level)

or should it be more like:

((your score) * (difficulty level + 1) - (opponent's score))

Why not just require players to use a version where it works (as is the case with several other games already, and which will probably be the case for many more currently non-working games)?

Okay, let's see how THIS scoring idea works.
  • 100 points per level completed
  • -1 point per lemming lost
  • -10 points per credit used
Game is over when (some reasonable number - I say 250) lemmings total have been lost. Using the nuke counts as losing 25 lemmings.

Old board imported

I now have the old message board imported, except that when you're viewing the list of topics, the "last post" date is wrong (it's using the first post date). Oh well, that's nothing too serious. Yeah, not as serious as the "you can't search the old board's messages", which in i...

Information

This forum's going to deal with the following items: 7DBS team entries until the cutoff is reached (remember, March 17 or eight teams... we have four teams right now); Questions about game settings and recordings; Notes about incredibly good/bad techniques; and (very rare, hopefully) Rule changes be...

Next official tournament... well... that's up to Aqua.

Next tournament-like event... well, that'd be 7DBS, and I still need four more teams of 2; at the rate I've been picking up people, it should be starting around March 24.
