I was the one who confirmed BBH's score in the tourney ; in fact it playbacked fine for me till the end with sound=0 the first time I tried it ; then I never managed to playback it till the end an other time :(

Maybe adding -frameskip 0 when recording would solve the problem ?

well, sorry to insist, but is it possible to get mail with the text of each post (like old board) ? because the only way I know to view new posts now is to connect, to click on "posts since last visit" to get the list (which is longer and longer ; about 10 per days) and to view them 1 by 1, but all ...

I think the good question is not "how inp should be playback" but "how inp should be RECORD" ; for several games, using -soundcard 0 and -frameskip 0 will only playback correctly if inp has been recording with same options [the more recent example of that is drifto94 : several recordings were playin...

Congrats to Mancho who pushed down the limit around 6'41 with great driving abilities. But there is a little problem : he used the dipswitch "territory=europe" instead of "usa" (you can see that when viewing the input because with usa option, it displays 2 credits ; with europe only 1 credit is show...

Well. I'm not against archiving, but I just remember that I've lost my way a few months ago in pc_rygar's mountains and I never found my road to continue ; I would have been happy to get an inp showing me the way then ... Just my 2 cents, I'm not very specialized in this type of games PS anders : an...

No Matt ...
Scoring I'm proposing is :
(1000 for a win)x level + (points for)x10 - (points against)

Let's take your examples :
70-60 level1 = 1000 + 700 - 60 = 1640
50-40 level1 = 1000 + 500 - 40 = 1460
50-40 level3 = 3000 + 500 - 40 = 3460

So that the main thing is to win against highest level

yes I had thought about the easiest "points for minus points against", but it is partially satisfying ; because with that (for a same difficulty) a 70-60 is the same than a 50-40 ; and in basket I think we should reward attack first, then pts difference

I've tried a new scoring on a basketball game (pc_dbldr) which takes care of best attack but also good defense ; I would like to know what marpers think of it and if we may apply this to all basket games (like we already did on soccer games) The pc_dbldr also takes care of level's opponent, but this...

An example with (120000-timex1000) for each course : *kale gets a total of 441261 *tim gets a total of 424699 (96.2% of 1st place) With 100000pts more for each course finished, it will give 1441261 for kale and 1424699 for tim which is 98.9% of 1st place ; so it depreciates good times and I don't se...

yes you're probably right, but for the moment we've to deal with QRS input -and probably others to come with deca 2002- made with 35tg

Arkanoid 's last level was broken before m37b?? (I don't remember when the mame dev fixed the bug) so, as players can't finish the game with older versions like m35tg, I was wondering if we could also apply to regular board the recent rule used for deca2002 [score=points when reaching last level + 1...
