Still haven't wolfmame'd since I can bang a million, but somebody took my bounty in October 2007. The company just made a webpage about the event and linked to their homepage.

Funny stuff.

Running at 120hz 640x480 mode seems to help a lot. Playing better, but only had access to keyboard. Got over 200k w/keybd, and felt like it was possible to do, but no motor memory for keyboard playing yet. The SAITEK gamer keyboard didn't experience any ghosting problems as it works w/n-key-rollover...

Emu

So the thing that noticed about the emulation: There is a tear midway down the screen. I believe that the top half of the screen has 16 milliseconds lag compared to the bottom part of the screen. In general, I can play more easily on the bottom half of the screen compared to the top as I have an ext...

Like I said, digital inputs (joysticks, buttons) are likely to be once per frame, and analogue inputs (trackballs, spinners, pedals) maybe once per frame, maybe more. Certainly relative analogue inputs would need more than one check per frame, to keep it as accurate as possible. Absolute inputs wou...

I'm pretty sure MAME does cycle accurate emulation of the 6809. In any game that slows down due to the speed of the emulated CPU, then MAME is likely to be running it just a touch faster than the actual arcade, as wait states aren't emulated. As far as I know, no driver in MAME emulates wait states...

First tidbits

On my laptop just now, robotron runs significantly faster under emulation than the real cabinet does. This causes the game to be more difficult under emulation. It reminds me of a speedup chip for asteroids. My understanding is that the real robotron slows down depending on the amount of activity, a...

I plan to Marp up what I got skill-wise soon, and I'll report back. I have a lot of stuff to say about all this, but I have to wait until I get all my ducks in a row.

Thanks for the interest and responses. I'll report back soon.

I just hit a million at difficulty 10 on a real machine for the first time today. I couldn't find anywhere else on the 'net that would appreciate this feat, but I had to announce it somewhere as it's been a big quest of mine for several years now.

I wish I had been paying attention. I'd probably had made a run for it.

I've had no luck the past two nights. Nothing of note in over 60 starts. Only about 10 of those 60 even see a second man before I hit escape. I really have to find a defense to those wild barrels. They seem to ruin so many potential decent games. I'm sure you already know that walking towards a lad...

I just spent a long wihle getting DK with wolfmame set up. I haven't used wolfmame before. My best score so far for the evening was 239,000 .. not enough. I wanted to report since I'm not uploading scores under my posted Marp score (I don't know if I can best my 315). If I can beat my own score .. I...

Cool! gegotw that I can play...

Sunday's bonus points to zylquin. Good job. I saw zy pass my 315,500 with e-mail notifications. I wouldn't have known about gegotw being DK otherwise. I don't know if I can compete, but I'm going to try if I can get some free time. Besides billy, Steve Weibe is the only person I know who can kill a...
