Fantasy Zone - Time Attack version
http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/1/9/c/kal_fantzoneta_8_wolf206.zip fantzoneta is a special version of Fantasy Zone where there's no scoring system but instead, it has a speedrun-like timer (including splits for every base or boss killed etc.). I guess it can be scored just like a racing game, i.e. tre...

Re: Yolympics 2019
Don't think World Series 99 can be chosen since it's a baseball game for Naomi.
And it's marked not working for a good number of reasons (namely crashes in attract, slowpoke, untested gameplay).

Re: NBA Jam and similar games.
http://forums.marpirc.net/viewtopic.php?t=10231 If you have a full list of stuff that doesn't have an explicit special rule set as stated in this poll then it may help. Also buy-in features are disallowed by implicit rule except for a very specific case that still needs talking/voting about (Cotton ...

Re: It's easier to call this "snpb - random"
It doesn't even matter: Apache 3 is flagged as not working in latest MAME, so these scores have no reason to exist anyway.

Omega Fighter Special is broken in 0.183 gameplay-wise, basically several smaller enemies won't shoot bullets.Current Game Nominations (check this before nominating games!)

Re: Updating the MARP site
We may start by exporting the inp/games/players database to something modern. Don't know if using API is more convenient timing-wise than just scraping the site, prolly not since it's a trivial format to parse anyway. While doing this we can thinking about how the new site should be, UX and features...

Re: Special rule for Time Crisis
Time Crisis 1 should be scored by least time. Something among the lines of:
(1000000 x checkpoint_reached) - time_of_play_at_last_checkpoint_beaten_in_milliseconds
(1000000 x checkpoint_reached) - time_of_play_at_last_checkpoint_beaten_in_milliseconds

Re: Old ranking system
fwiw I don't think saulonpb is mass uploading for the leaderboard. Instead he's probably just abusing the search system: by adding a description in his garbage inps with "first try" it's basically "tagging" games with an arbitrary "popularity Arcade ranking" schema. Think about it: "first try" means...

Re: Archive these games -topic
Looks like somebody (PL?) archivied the TourVision sets at some point.
I honestly don't mind but can I know the exact reason behind that?
I suppose not being actual MAME romsets but software lists as per now?

Re: saulonpb - dkong - 3,200
I guess the problem arises when people wants to organize a proper tournament here. But I have no hell of a clue about why there aren't any lately, probably because it's actually more convenient to make them somewhere else, due of the ultra known problems about MARP being old and unmanned basically. ...

Re: TK2012 / PP
That still covers the micromanagement part, and it's not guaranteed that Windows always remember your setting for that folder (amongst other things that I won't cover here). And my whole point is that having to checkout which damn filename he used isn't a rule violation but totally poor sportsmanshi...

Re: TK2012 / PP
That makes a (sort of) sense. It's still not optimal even then, it means going thru the folder itself and remember which random letter you just used. And in cases like hih or hjh * it's rather easy to just mess it up and zip the wrong thing. *Random example, just to make the idea. Also what about ma...

Re: TK2012 / PP
So it's clear as the sun that the fucker is cheating on racing games at very least, and I totally want an official opinion about editors. Here's where it raises red flags everywhere (and adding comparisons for reference): http://replay.marpirc.net/inp/6/a/0/xyn_contcircj_6242030_wolf188.zip http://r...

Legionnaire broken scores
http://replay.marpirc.net/r/(legionnaj,legionnau,legionna) First working version for this is 0.186 (31 May 2017) This didn't prevent these guys to submit inps for a broken version of MAME the year before. Indeed I opened simpsons99's legionnaj inp and it sported the typical bugs back when gam...
