Re: Must see recordings
For me it would have to be Gavin Ward's Marble Madness WR score. What he does with a trackball (or even harder, a mouse for that matter) is nothing less than incredible. Him moving that marble around the board is almost flawless. I would have crashed my marble 1,000 times if I zipped around the boa...

There is a related problem and I can't get a solution from Zwaxy or Chris G. Chris G? Btw, is everything ok with Chad? ... last time he posted here was in August 2015? Edit: Last active: Wed Feb 14, 2018 8:15 pm I had a discussion with him about some snapshots in 2009, he said that I don't have to ...

Re: The fall of the Gods
There's a bit more to the barrel analysis than that. Hi George, Probably yes, but this was all the info I had. Mr Copeland thought that his stats were proof which they are not... I haven't seen any other proof so far. What's suspicious is that compared to other players with very high barrel points,...

Re: The fall of the Gods
Thanks. Let's look at "Total Smashes" for all 12 players listed and assume it's normally distributed.... According to normal distribution the odds for single player to get 380 smashes (as Billy did) is roughly 1/12. So there's nothing unusual with Billy's amount of smashes which seems to be in quest...

https://kotaku.com/former-world-record-donkey-kong-score-now-in-dispute-1822736797 Another elite player, Wes Copeland, has accused Mitchell’s Donkey Kong score as being bogus, citing what he categorized as a suspiciously fortuitous point gain from a part of the game governed by random number generat...

Re: Archive these games -topic
There's some confusion here: so far we've talked about taisen mahjong aka player against CPU. solitaire mahjong is a completely different genre, and while I'm not a fan of them that doesn't mean they aren't worth to my eyes. Also they have like ... 1-5% of luck factor? Also I have no idea about the...

Re: Archive these games -topic
If it is true that tactics, strategies and thinking apply to all games, then they apply ALSO to video games. Isn't that what I just said. The idea is that all games include tactics but merely having tactics doesn't make a game a video game. As long as luck isn't the absolute factor, I don't see why...

Re: Archive these games -topic
mahjong is a completely different league than "cards" games. Not really, can be played with physical tiles/cards and luck is a factor, you can play strategically perfect and still not pass it because the wrong tile appears beneath... Sort of like Solitaire. PS: hand-eye coordination is one of the s...

Tabletop - REMOVE ALL --OR -- REMOVE Backgammon, Chess, Go, Othello ??????????? These are pure strategy, 0 % luck. Chess is known as "king of all games" :) Phil, they are board games, not video games. btw, cheating at chess would be too easy... no certain way to tell if one is using a chess machine...
