I think what makes it worse is that analog input overflow issue. I wish they would fix that. Amen. A little digging on the MAME forums and alt.games.mame convinced me that this was my problem on Centipede. Nothing the settings on my machine can do about it. I'd love to be able to play it on MAME. I...

Special Rules for Snake Pit
I notice that a Special Rule was added for Snake Pit on July 10.
I saw the pre-poll discussion in this forum, but never saw a vote.
Is a vote necessary, if so "where" was it held?

why do you think sampras attached the file to his post? When I first read the post I thought he was wanting someone to take care of it for him. (As did Rick apparently) After your reply I figured that's what he was probably doing but didn't check to make sure. I was mainly explaining for the benefi...

one in particular who is very good at the game Turns out to be an understatement... I've never seen a case where the screen never ended without their being at least one non-pterodactyl enemy on the screen If there was anybody left, I sure didn't see them. Joust 2 never saw wide release back in 1986...

Sampras and Luja, Have you tried uploading from a URL instead of directly from your computer? To do this go here Sampras, now that you have the file here on the board (as Buttermaker suggested you could have used an old post) you should be able to use: http://forums.marpirc.net/download.php?id=98 as...

Yes, I'm guessing any score doing that technique wouldn't be accepted just as regular Joust isn't Nor should it be, in my opinion. Those who are really expert at the game shouldn't have their scores bumped just because I encountered a glitch that might be MAME related and not possible in the arcade...

Joust 2 Anomaly
I was playing Joust 2 last night and something unusual happened. (This game eats my lunch and steals dessert, BTW) When I killed all the creatures on Wave 3 ("The Altar"), the wave did not end for some reason. Before the pterodactyls finished me off I found that by standing on the top plat...

In your original message you said barely moving the mouse makes the player zoom across the screen. Well, I said that moving the mouse a smaller distance made the shooter move farther when i set the sensitivity to 255 , but then that is to be expected. And to repeat: whatever changes I make to my OS...

Can you get specific on what you tried? It sounds like you just tried a few extremes...instead of trying a range of realistic sensitivities for centipede. I had suggested trying in the 25-60% range. I have tried every setting 0-255, one by one. None of them has any affect on the fact that the shoot...

Ok, so perhaps in your case your OS settings don't affect the game...fine..doesn;t matter. What's that got to do with changing the sensitivity in the game in MAME I didn't mean to suggest that it did. I was responding to assertions that the OS settings did affect the MAME control, and was in the ho...

Okay, back to Centipede :P Yes, you are right, OS mouse options DO affect mouse speed at Mame Sorry, but my observations on several PC's tell me the opposite. ...but maybe not cuz it might be coded to temporarily override the OS mouse settings... That certainly appears to be the case to me. Windows ...

Chad, personally I don't care about the points. It is just the fact that I spent a lot of time making that cloak inp. Many people have gotten it to work. It is even confirmed. I feel bad that not everyone can get it to playback. If you want to have a vote, that is fine by me. If you want to zero it...

For centipede I have both of those set to 50%. Depending on your OS mouse tracking settings etc. you might need a totally different number. You're not suggesting that the OS mouse settings affect the settings on the shooter in the game are you? Wouldn't that screw up playback for anyone with differ...
