Re: Domino Man - Leeching

I propose : "if you die twice on a same level, any point made after on this same level will be substracted" That would give 480267 for CWK's input, but I ignore if this rule is too restricting and if other inputs are concerned ... What do you think ? This rule would definitely affect the ...

Re: Domino Man - Leeching

I agree with GJTMarper and The_Pro. Changing to 5 lives only wouldn't help. With the 5 lives you can easily get 120K-150K where playing straight up you're unlikely to get anywhere near that with five men due to the randomness and speed of the enemies in the upper levels (15 and beyond, and especiall...

Re: GEGOTW 2012 - PLAY OFF: GUZZLER - STAR FORCE

Games for the finals were fun overall. Hopefully, I'll have some time to play Guzzler a bit more. Star Force is decent but also frustrating. I had trouble with getting the mid-level 50K bonus boss consistently. I'd either start firing too early (before center turned white) or not able to get enough ...

Re: GEGOTW 2012 - PLAY OFF: GUZZLER - STAR FORCE

Aw, I was hoping for Dig Dug and Centipede (timed)

So, we're playing both games at the same time for the next 10 days, correct?

Re: GEGOTW 2012 - GAME 2: PHOENIX

I wonder who'll win Frogger in the next round?
Not a sure thing by any means given the number of strong Frogger players here on MARP. Plus, I'll be in Grand Rapids for the US Open table tennis for the last part of the Frogger week for GEGOTW so I'll have to get my submission in before that Friday.

Re: GEGOTW 2012 - GAME 3: ELEVATOR ACTION

I'm pretty sure you can still control the elevators. I just had it happen to me on level 1, and was still controlling them. You still have some control of the elevators, but the response time gets worse. For example, if you're moving down and you want to start going up (eg, to avoid a shot), the el...

Re: Must see recordings

One of the best recordings in MARP imo. =D>

Well, at least up to 2M points...
I thought this guy(Jimmy Linderman) has no nerves at all!
And if you ever get to see him play in person, you'll get to hear him humming/singing the tunes of the game while he's playing!

Re: Dig Dug

It's been a while since I watched TECH-D's replay but I do know I was able to watch the whole thing. I'll try and check later tonight to see if I can still get it to play back. i wish there was some other replays or videos of this.. i couldn't find any on youtube.. I'm pretty sure Ken House has a vi...

but maybe (since i had the free version).. it would not let me point to my physical drives, so i had no way to access the directories/games/roms that i had set up.. I'm not sure if VirtualPC lets you directly access the physical drives. The way I have it set up, I copy only the MAME pieces I need i...

Re: *jrpacman-fast

I still keep a Windows 95 machine tucked away in a closet in case I ever absolutely must see an old recording.
I installed Windows 98 into a VirtualPC for this purpose, although I do still have an actual machine with it too just in case. I should make a Windows 95 one, too.

I wonder if he has ever tried centipede/millipede type games. I'll ask him that next time we chat. take his same great timing for shooting he should do great...although trackball coordination maybe isn't a skill he has developed(?). I'm pretty sure Aart told me that he was once able to get around 6...
