Well, I thought one thing that came out of that thread was to add a special rule that the game must at least be completed for that leeching method to be allowed. To allow that leeching with no real intent to finish the game isn't right IMHO. A skilled player can still leech in those spots yet also c...

I think that would really only apply to a handful of games that have an ending. It could be interesting for certain games though. For many games, there is no "ending". You can play forever. Special rules would have to be set for each game saying something like minimum score after completin...

without wathcing your inp it's hard to say. based on the description I'd say you are in a gray area. How long does it take you to complete a time and get and destroy the boss? It seems to me it isn't much different versus leeching parachutes delaying the completion of a stage as long as possible to ...

It's been explained to me that the dip switch settings are stored within the inp file....so even though I have the dip switch set to "hard", the inp was recorded at "easy" so the game plays at "easy". I assumed the person played at TG settings which is "hard" ...

Issue with Nibbler in mame. I have done more testing and have posted results at http://www.permafrostsys.com/nibbler2.html check that out. Any suggestions or discussion appreciated. If someone else can test a PC version of mame and take that same screenshot for wave 25 at "easy" and "...

Re: _everything_you_ever_wanted_to_know_about_mspacman_(kind

i play pretty conservative, so i probably have about 150-200k if i'm lucky.. Yeah, I was guessing you had about that given what final score you had at the kill screen. many times i die going after the last ghost.. which isn't worthwhile, It's worth it when you have men to spare reaching the kill sc...

Nibbler-take 2...

I did some investigating after trying to play Nibbler at a difficulty setting of "hard" to match the TG settings for this game and to start trying to beat the 100 million score posted here at MARP for nibbler. It's the same score submitted to TG.

[rest deleted cuz it's moot now]

Re: _everything_you_ever_wanted_to_know_about_mspacman_(kind

be prepared for a long and laborious post here, Geesh, the above are long posts. and yes, both my eyes (which are really blurring right now)...and my wrists are killing me.. which is why i really dont' want to keep playing these versions any more.. hehe, I know the feeling. Especially now where I h...

negative1, how did you get all of those so quickly? Have you been playing them the past couple of weeks then suddenly uploaded them all or did you do all of those the last couple of days? You must have played 8-10+ hours a day the past few days to just play all those games out. I know when I did a c...

For Toki, I already suggested that and it seemed well received... that you must complete the game for your high score to count for Toki if you did any leeching. For Toki, this at least adds a risk factor cuz if you do some early level leeching and sacrifice a few of your men for big points, you migh...

I haven't tried it with the latest few versions of MAME but older versions like 0.37 using glide or especially opengl for rendering didn't give you more performance. You actually lose some performance, but some games look better with the blurring/smoothing effect...and perhaps even better looking fo...

The red monster in the various pacman, mspacman, etc. games. On the later boards once you have cleared so many dots off the board the red monster starts zooming! He's scary as hell! :P Seriously though, I think the final boss in Ghost-n-Goblins is pretty evil. Some of those bosses in Castlevania are...
